Robert J. Kuta

Rob Kuta is a member of the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency.  Mr. Kuta was appointed to the board effective July 1, 2017 by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors as an officer or employee of California Water Service Company (Cal Water).

Mr. Kuta is Vice President of Engineering and Chief Water & Environmental Compliance officer for California Water Service Company.   He has been in the water industry for over 30 years and has led large and diverse water industry organizations through dynamic conditions in both domestic and international business settings. 

Mr. Kuta has extensive experience in operations and management, alternative project delivery, and in successfully delivering some of the largest and most complex water and wastewater “design build operate” projects nationally and internationally.  His long-time career in the industry has given him a solid foundation in developing strategic plans, effective business performance models, and regulatory strategies. 

Mr. Kuta’s professional affiliations include AWWA, Design-Build Institute of America, National Association of Water Companies, Nation Council for Public-Private Partnerships, Water Environment Federation, Water for People, and WateReuse Association. Mr. Kuta's professional affiliations include AWWA, Design-Build Institute of America, National Association of Water Companies, National Council for Public-Private Partnerships, Water Environment Federation, Water for People, Living Water and WateReuse Association.

Mr. Kuta holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Central Michigan University, and an MBA from University of Phoenix. He also has completed graduate studies in Hydrology/Civil Engineering at Arizona State University.
