Greer Stone was appointed by the City of Palo Alto to the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency in March 2023.  Except for some emergency backup wells, the City receives its entire water supply from the San Francisco Regional Water System.

 

Mr. Stone was elected to the City Council in 2020.  He currently serves as Chair of the Council Appointed Officer Committee, and is a member of the Finance Committee,  Silicon Valley Regional Interoperability Authority, Housing Element Ad Hoc Committee, and Sustainability and Climate Action Plan Ad Hoc Committee.  He represents the Council on the Chamber of Commerce Business Advocacy & Public Policy Forum, and San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority, and is the Alternate on the Santa Clara County Cities Association, Legislature Action Committee.  He is the Council liaison to the Parks and Recreation Commission, and the City’s liaison to the San Francisco Airport Roundtable.

 

Prior to his election to Council, Mr. Stone served as Chair of the Midtown Residents Association Steering Committee and Palo Alto Human Relations Commission.  He served as Vice-Chair of the Santa Clara County Human Rights Commission, and served as a Block Preparedness Coordinator. 

 

Mr. Stone earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from UC Irvine, his teaching credentials from Notre Dame de Namur University, and his Law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law.  He is a Bay Area native.
