Water Conservation Rep/Office Assistant

 

Emily Yarsinske is the Water Conservation Representative/Office Assistant for the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA), which comprises the 26 utilities that purchase water from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) for resale to their local service areas.  BAWSCA respresents its members' collective interests in their relationship with the SFPUC on matters related to water supply, facility reliability, operations, water quality and wholesale water rates.

 

Ms. Yarsinske assists with the development and implementation of BAWSCA's multiple regional water conservation programs, and provides information regarding BAWSCA's rebate programs to water customers.  Her duties include analyzing and evaluating data for conservation and special projects, organizing and executing projects that involve coordination with member agency representatives and vendors, updating member agency information, and distributing communications in various formats.  In addition, Emily maintains and distributes the calendar of meetings, schedules agency events, composes or edits correspondence and reports, and provides overall assistance to the Office Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of the BAWSCA office.

 

Prior to joining BAWSCA in July 2017, Emily spent two years as a Water Conservation Intern at the Santa Clara Valley Water District, where she assisted Water Conservation Specialists with various rebate programs, and became the lead coordinator for water conservation events and inventory management.

 

Emily graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and a concentration in Sustainable Water Resources from San Jose State University.  During her tiem at SJSU, she served as co-director for the Environmental Resource Center, a student-run organization connected to the Department of Environmental Studies that teaches environmental leadership and presents SJSU and the community with annual sustainability events.
