Debi Davis was appointed by the City of Santa Clara to the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA) in January 2019. The city provides water from the San Francisco Regional Water System to commercial/industrial customers in its northern area and to residents in the southern area. The city owns and operates its own water utility.
Ms. Davis was elected to the Santa Clara City Council in November 2012, and served as Vice Mayor in 2015. She was re-elected to a second four-year term on the Santa Clara City Council in November 2016. She is Chair of the Santa Clara Valley Water Commission, Chair of Santa Jose/Santa Clara Treatment Plant Advisory Committee, and serves on the Joint Recycled Water Policy Advisory Committee and San Jose/Santa Clara Clean Water Financing Authority. Ms. Davis also serves as Chair on the City’s Economic Development, Communications and Marketing Committee, and serves on the City’s Governance and Ethics Committee.
Regionally, Ms. Davis is a board member of the Cities Association of Santa Clara County and serves on its City Selection Committee, and Legislative Action Committee. She also serves on the Peninsula Division of the League of California Cities, Santa Clara County Emergency Operational Area Council, and is a board member of the Silicon Valley Regional Interoperability Authority. She is the Alternate on the City/School Liaison Committee of the Santa Clara Unified School District, and represents the Council on the City/Mission College Liaison Committee, Santa Clara Sister Cities Association, and Triton Museum of Art Liaison Committee.
Ms. Davis’ Community involvement includes the Sister Cities International NorCal Chapter, Mission City Community Fund, Santa Clara Woman’s Club, Santa Clara University Catala Club, Soroptimist of Santa Clara, and Santa Clara American Legion Post 419.
Ms. Davis is a resident of Santa Clara for over 17 years.
