Tom Hamilton was appointed by the San Bruno City Council to the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA) in January 2021. The City of San Bruno owns and operates its own water utility, providing water to residential, commercial and light industrial customers in San Bruno and unincorporated areas of San Mateo County.
Mr. Hamilton was elected to the San Bruno City Council in November 2020 to serve a four-year term. He currently serves on several regional and city committees, including the Airport Land Use Committee and Airport Roundtable as well as on the local Clean SB Action Committee and as liaison to the Planning Commission.
Mr. Hamilton’s professional career includes over 25 years in the IT industry. He serves as an IT Director in a large and complex healthcare organization where he designs operations and finance processes, and manages a team of 30 talented analysts. He lives in San Bruno with his wife Karen and their two children.
Mr. Hamilton was born and raised in San Bruno and attended local public schools. Prior to being elected to City Council, he served 12 years as member and chair of the San Bruno Traffic Safety and Parking Committee, followed by 2 years on the Planning Commission. He also volunteers in support of a variety of local organizations including Second Harvest Food Bank and the American Legion.
