The City of Menlo Park appointed Betsy Nash to the BAWSCA Board of Directors effective January 16, 2025. Menlo Park provides water to over 21,000 of Menlo Park’s residents and businesses, while other water purveyors serve the rest of the city’s residential, commercial and industrial customers.
Betsy was elected to the Menlo Park City Council in 2018 and re-elected in 2022 to represent Menlo Park District 4, which includes downtown and Central Menlo Park neighborhoods. She is a member of the Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) Board of Directors and its Executive Committee, the Stanford Community Resources Group, the Searsville Advisory Group, and Council liaison to the City’s Environmental Quality Commission. Betsy serves as alternate for the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), City/County Association of Governments (C/CAG), and League of California Cities – Peninsula Division. She is a C/CAG appointed member of their Resource Management and Climate Protection committee. Betsy served as Mayor of Menlo Park in 2022. Prior to being elected to City Council, Betsy served on the Complete Streets Commission and Bicycle Commission.
Betsy has a background in clinical studies, data management and computer science, including work for Genentech, Inc. and Travenol-Genentech Diagnostics. Betsy graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Human Biology and Psychology. Married, with three children and two grandchildren, Betsy enjoys hiking in the High Sierra, tide pooling, and spending time with family and friends.
