The 2024 Discount Rain Barrel program is co-hosted by the City of Burlingame and the Town of Hillsborough (for pick-up at Hillsborough Town Hall on December 7) and hosted by the City of San Carlos for pick-up in San Carlos on December 14. The limited-time Rain Barrel Program is open now until supplies run out. San Mateo County residents, property owners, and property managers can purchase up to two high-quality, 50-gallon rain barrels for $80 each plus tax.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM

1. Choose the City where you’d like to pick up your rain barrel, then click on the “Purchase Your Rain Barrel” button below. You will be redirected to the Rain Water Solutions purchase site for the City of your choice.
2. Rain barrels will be distributed in early December at two different times and locations:
   -Town of Hillsborough, December 7th, 9 am – 12 pm 
   –City of San Carlos, December 14th, 9 am – 12 pm
   After selecting your pick-up location, you will be required to sign a liability waiver form.
3. Review and submit the liability waiver form. You will then be directed to the purchase page.
4. Purchase rain barrel(s) securely online through the Rain Water Solutions site via credit card. You will be automatically redirected to the purchase page once the liability waiver is completed.
5. Note that the date and location you have chosen for pick up is the only date and location where you can pick up your purchase. Your barrel will not be available on the other date or at the other location. The rain barrel(s) will NOT be shipped to you. If you can not personally pick up your barrel(s), you can have a relative, neighbor, or friend pick up the barrel for you as long as they have your full name and/or sales order number.
6. The exact address of your chosen location will be provided after you make your purchase.Read the Pick-Up Event Instructions below for more information.
7. Install your rain barrel(s) per the rebate installation requirements found here. We encourage you to watch this 5-minute installation video before your barrel purchase.
8. Apply for the rain barrel rebate after barrel purchase and installation, which can cover up to 100% of the per-barrel price (pre-tax) for qualifying applicants. Click here for information on the rain barrel rebate process and installation requirements.
